Listening to, and playing an instrument is fun and exciting. Instruments can be found in many performance groups such as bands, orchestras and ensembles.

The piano is an acoustic, percussion instrument. The sound is made by playing the keys which connect to the hammers which strike the strings.
The piano was developed from the earlier keyboards, harpsichord and clavichord for example, by the Italian instrument maker, Bartolomeo Cristofori in the early 1700s.
The piano keyboard has 52 white notes and 36 black notes (sharps and flats) arranged in the repetitive alphabetical pattern of A B C D E F G over eight sequences.
The piano can be both a solo and ensemble instrument.
The piano diagram has the white notes C, D, E, F, G, A & B, and the black sharp/flat notes C#(Db), D#(Eb), F#(Gb), G#(Ab), A#(Bb). One group involves three white notes with two black notes whilst the group involves four white notes with three black notes
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that usually has six strings. The sound is projected either acoustically, using a hollow wooden, or plastic and wood box, or amplified through electrical pick-ups and a speaker. Acoustic guitars produce a bright sound while electric guitars generate a metal sound. 6-string guitars are tuned to the pitch levels: E A D G B E from lowest (E2) to highest (E4).
The bass guitar is an electric stringed instrument, usually with four strings tuned to the pitch levels: E A D G (an octave lower than the electric guitar tuning). The five-stringed electric bass guitar has an additional lower string tuned: B E A D G. Musical sound is produced by playing with the fingers or the thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, strumming, tapping, thumping or using a plectrum (a pick).
A drum kit a collection of drums and other percussion instruments, typically cymbals, which are set up on stands to be played by a single player, with drum sticks held in both hands, and the feet operating pedals that control the hi-hat cymbals and the beater for the bass drum
Here is a list of the drum kit parts
Bass drum- played by a pedal operated by the right foot, which moves a felt-covered beater
hi-hats- (two cymbals mounted on a stand), played with sticks, opened and closed with foot pedal (can produce sound with foot only)
snare drum- mounted on a stand, placed between the player's knees and played with drum sticks (wooden or brush sticks)
crash cymbal- cymbal mounted on a stand that produces a loud, sharp "crash"
ride cymbal- cymbal mounted on a stand maintains a steady rhythmic pattern, sometimes called a ride pattern
tom-toms- two mini drums that sit on top of the bass drum
floor tom- sits on the left of the drum kit and provides an extra beat or rhythm
